One of our newest projects is a website for the Linda Magill Group (LMG).  LMG is a team of professionals offering consulting and training services across a number of different specializations; Health & safety, Human Resources, Environmental Management, Claims Management & Return to Work, and Regulatory Compliance.

Linda and her team approached us about creating a professional website that would reinforce the strength of the company within the health and safety, training/education, and human resources industries.  It was important to the entire team that their website be visually appealing to set themselves apart from the often stagnant look of their competitors. They wanted to feel more accessible and personable to reflect the injection of personality and passion the team has for what they do!

The challenge was to incorporate a large volume of information about these industries, the company, competencies, training, and seminars.  Additionally, LMG needed the ability to accept seminar bookings through a detailed contact form completely separate from their contact page.

The solution was to create a clean website with pops of the signature LMG orange and provide visual interest within the layout, interactive content layout, and with subtle design touches.  Check out the final result at

We are happy to announce that the Trinity Fire & Security website is now live! With such positive feedback over the last few weeks, we thought we’d share the finished look and why the site was designed this way.

Using the bold red and yellow within the Trinity logo, we added a neutral palette of grays to bring the information together. The red and yellow tones are common within the fire and security industry as they promote the following feelings: trust, reliability, strength, energy, danger, protection, action, and caution.

With that said, overuse of either color can evoke anger or distress. Yellow is often the first color seen by the human eye which is why it is used with black in caution signs. People who are blind to other colors can usually still see yellow.

When creating a website with such a strong color palette, it was important to use the colors to highlight information and move the viewer’s eye around the page. To make sure a website that uses multiple gray tones is still engaging; we added a color slide show, accordion information menus, fire fact rotator, and other interactive features. This will engage a viewer enticing them to read more and stay on the site longer.

The Trinity website can expand on services and testimonials at any time. Eventually, the website will have a portfolio or products and a multi-lingual homepage.
Trinity Fire & Security is a great example of a website that is polished and attention grabbing without being aggressive.

Have you ever thought about what color means to your business and your clients?

We are very proud to have worked on the official website of the Trenton Kiwanis Club.

Our president, Remco de Gooyer, is a proud member of the Trenton Kiwanis Club and was very excited to work on a project that was very dear to his heart. The Trenton Kiwanis Club has been a mainstay of the Trenton community for over 60 years and has always been a quiet force in the community, raising money for worthwhile activities and organizations in Trenton.

As the expression goes “if you wink at a girl in the dark the only person who knows you’re doing it is you” the Trenton Kiwanis Club needed a strong public presence to help promote its message and to help keep the community informed of what they do. From the Salvation Army Luncheon to the Walleye World Fishing Derby the Trenton Kiwanis Club does a great deal of work to make a handful of fundraisers very successful so that they can focus their time on helping the community instead of just raising money from it.

Please take a look at it and enjoy it because it was more than just a website project, it was a labour of earnestness.

At DU Media, we have worked closely with many not-for-profit organizations and charities to create dynamic, comprehensive, and professional websites to assist in public education about their program or initiative with a way to incorporate the ability to accept online donations. Through our involvement with the Trenton Kiwanis Club and the Walleye World Fishing Derby, we have worked closely to assist in the fund-raising initiatives for the Trenton Memorial Hospital (TMH) Foundation and now had the opportunity to provide them with a website that will directly benefit their growth plans for the Foundation.

The TMH Foundation raises funds in to achieve a goal of providing the best quality health care that Quinte Health Care (QHC) – Trenton Memorial Hospital can offer. TMH Foundation has given more than $740,000 back to the community for local healthcare programs and equipment relating to Ophthalmology, Dental Surgery, Same Day Surgery, Vein Clinic, Urodynamics Clinic, Cervical Cancer and Regional Comprehensive Breast Assessment Centre. 100% of the funds you donate to the TMHF Foundation stay in our community with none of the donations contributing to foundation operating costs.

Explore the TMH Foundation website at to learn more about the advances being made to our health care system.  Participate as a volunteer or donor by calling 392-2540.
